Leadership Message

Dear Friends,

Thank you for visiting the site. I hope everyone is continuing to do well and staying safe. These are very difficult times across the country.

This continues to be a very difficult time, as well, for the U.S. auto industry. The economic impact from the coronavirus – on top of the existing challenges we faced and increased competition that flooded the market with too much glass – is creating devastating effects for many.

We will continue to keep this site updated as we get more information throughout this process. I respect and appreciate all you do.

Salvador Minarro

President

Vitro Automotive Glass

Discussions with UAW

The unprecedented disruption on the U.S. auto market and the severity of the economic impact from the coronavirus response is forcing us to consider the closure of Evansville – beyond the planned closure of Lines 1 and 8 already announced for later this year at our Evansville facility.

No decisions have been made regarding this potential step and we have notified your union leadership of this possibility. Given the current situation of social distancing, we are working to schedule discussions with UAW leadership as soon as possible.

We have never experienced anything like the current coronavirus situation or its immediate and devastating impacts on our economy or marketplace.

We will continue to keep everyone updated throughout this process.

Thank you.
